Mercury Retrograde in Scorpio 2026: The Dates
These are the dates worth putting in your phone, because this retrograde does not happen on its own. Venus is already retrograde, and the two of them finish on exactly the same day.
- 24 October: Mercury turns retrograde in Scorpio.
- 25 October: Venus, retrograde since 3 October, backs out of Scorpio and into Libra.
- 26 October: a full moon in Taurus, sitting directly opposite all that Scorpio intensity.
- 9 November: a new moon in Scorpio, the reset point in the middle of it all.
- 13 November: Mercury and Venus both turn direct, on the same day.
The post-retrograde shadow clears around the end of November. That is the point where communication properly settles, rather than simply stopping being chaotic.
Why a Scorpio Retrograde Hits Harder
Scorpio rules intimacy, trust, secrets and the things people share only when they are genuinely in it. Mercury backtracking through that territory is less about losing your keys and more about finding out something you were never meant to see, or saying something you had decided you would take to the grave.
The fixed signs feel it most directly, so Scorpio, Taurus, Leo and Aquarius, with the water signs close behind. Fixed signs are the ones who dig in, which is exactly the instinct this retrograde keeps testing.
None of that is automatically bad. A Scorpio retrograde handled with honesty tends to clear the air permanently. Handled with reactivity, it burns something down that did not need burning. The difference is almost always how long you wait before replying.

Expect the conversation you have been circling for months to arrive without much warning, usually on a Tuesday, usually over something small. Scorpio is not interested in the surface argument. If you are single
Connections made now tend to feel unusually deep unusually quickly. Scorpio makes intensity feel like intimacy, and those are not the same thing. Enjoy it, but pace what you share, and be a little suspicious of anything that feels like fate within a fortnight.
If your ex reappears

- Do not make it permanent. Moving in, going exclusive, deleting someone forever. None of it needs deciding before 13 November.
