Six Tarot Spreads for Your Love Life, and What Each One Asks
Almost everything written about tarot is about the cards. What the Tower means, what the Lovers means, what it means when a card comes out reversed. Very little is written about the spread, which is strange, because the spread is what decides whether a reading is useful or just atmospheric.
The same three cards mean completely different things depending on what you asked them to answer. Pick the wrong spread and you get a reading that sounds meaningful and tells you nothing.
Where the Magic Actually Happens
Astrology is better in person. Real people, real chemistry, real venues. Find your next night out.
Why the Spread Matters More Than the Cards
Most spreads you will find online are past, present and future. It is the default for a reason, because it is easy to explain, but it has a flaw. Everything becomes a timeline. You ask about a specific problem and get told roughly what happened, what is happening and what might happen next, which is a shape rather than an answer.
A good spread makes the position do interpretive work. If card two is specifically what keeps getting in the way, then whatever lands there has a job, and the reading has to commit to something. That is the whole difference.
Ours are all three cards. Six spreads, three cards each, and different positions in every one.
The Six Spreads
Love
What you bring to love, what keeps getting in the way, and what it will take. Note that the first card is about you rather than about them, which is the part people resist. Use this one when you keep ending up in the same situation with different people.
Twin Flame
What binds you, what keeps pulling you apart, and what this connection is for. For the intense one that will not resolve. It does not confirm anybody is your twin flame, and that is deliberate.
Shadow
What you hide, where it leaks out, and what changes when you face it. The most uncomfortable of the six and the most useful. The middle card is the one that does the damage, because the thing you are hiding is rarely hidden as well as you think.
Yes or No
The case for yes, the case for no, and the deciding factor. For a specific decision rather than a general mood. Should I message him, should I go, should I end it. The verdict has to be earned across three cards instead of announced, which makes it considerably harder to argue with.
Elemental
The element leading you now, the element you are missing, and the element to work with next. Fire, earth, air and water, read as a state you are in rather than a fixed type. Pairs well with your Big 3, because the element you are missing is often one your chart is already short of.
Career
What you are genuinely good at, what is holding it back, and where to put your energy next. Not a love spread, but it belongs here more than it looks. A great deal of what people call a dating problem turns out to be an energy problem.
How to Pick One
Pick by the shape of the question, not the subject. A specific decision goes to Yes or No. A repeating pattern goes to Love or Shadow. One particular person who will not resolve goes to Twin Flame. A general sense of being stuck, where you cannot name the problem, goes to Elemental.
The most common mistake is reaching for Twin Flame when Love is the honest question, usually because Twin Flame sounds like it will give a more flattering answer. It will not.
Or Have It Read in Person
We have tarot readers at selected events, which is a different experience to pulling your own. Here is what a reading at a singles night is actually like, and the events page notes on the listing where a reader is included.
All six spreads are in the Cosmic Fusion app, read against your own chart rather than generically, which is the part that makes a difference. And our reviews and success stories are worth a look if you are deciding whether to come to a night.
