LA Date Ideas for Every Zodiac Sign
LA is an outstanding city for dates and a terrible one for planning them, because the good options are scattered across ninety minutes of traffic and half of them are only good at a specific time of day. Here is what works, by sign.
The Fire Signs
Aries: hike Runyon Canyon, early. Aries needs to be doing something rather than sitting opposite somebody being assessed. A hike solves it, gives you a shared objective, and lets you both stop making eye contact when the conversation needs a rest. Go at eight, before the heat and the crowd.
Where the Magic Actually Happens
Astrology is better in person. Real people, real chemistry, real venues. Find your next night out.
Leo: a rooftop, at golden hour. Leo wants the evening to feel like an occasion and wants to look well in it. Downtown and West Hollywood both do this properly. Book it rather than turning up, because a Leo queuing is a Leo in a bad mood.
Sagittarius: drive somewhere. Up the PCH, out to Malibu, or the whole way to Joshua Tree if it is going well enough to justify a day. Sagittarius measures a date by how far it got from where it started. A bar within walking distance is not a date to this sign, it is a meeting.
The Earth Signs
Taurus: Grand Central Market, slowly. Taurus dates through its senses and will forgive a great deal for good food. Wander, eat several things, do not book anything afterwards. The mistake with a Taurus is scheduling. Give it two unhurried hours and it will be entirely happy.
Virgo: the Huntington. Gardens, art, and everything beautifully maintained, which Virgo notices even if it never says so. It is also in Pasadena, which means a Virgo will have already checked the parking situation and be quietly pleased that it is fine.
Capricorn: a real reservation, somewhere good. Capricorn reads effort as interest, and a booked table at a place you had to think about is the clearest signal available. Spontaneity is not charming to this sign, it reads as not having planned. Have a plan, and let it know there is one.
The Air Signs
Gemini: The Last Bookstore, then anywhere nearby. Gemini needs material, and an hour among a hundred thousand books generates more conversation than any restaurant will. Move on afterwards. Two locations in one evening suits this sign better than one long sitting.
Libra: the Getty. Architecture, gardens, art and a view, arranged with more care than almost anywhere in the city. Libra is ruled by Venus and genuinely does date better in beautiful surroundings. The tram up is also an excellent five minutes of enforced proximity.
Aquarius: the Museum of Jurassic Technology. Genuinely strange, faintly unexplainable, and impossible to have a normal conversation after. Aquarius wants a date that is not like other dates, and this is the least conventional hour available in Culver City.
The Water Signs
Cancer: a farmers market, then cook. Not a first date, but the third one. Cancer expresses affection domestically and will tell you more about itself in a kitchen than in any restaurant. If it is still early, the Santa Monica market on a Saturday morning is the daylight version.
Scorpio: Griffith Observatory after dark. The whole city laid out below and almost nothing to do but talk. Scorpio does not want a distraction, it wants depth and a bit of atmosphere, and this delivers both. Follow it with a dive bar rather than anywhere bright.
Pisces: the beach at sunset, and nothing else planned. Pisces needs the date to have an atmosphere rather than an itinerary. El Matador if you are prepared to drive, Venice if you are not. Do not book a table for eight. The whole point is that neither of you knows what happens next.
The One Rule That Applies to All Twelve
Make the first one short and roughly equidistant. The most common way a promising LA date fails is not the conversation, it is that one person drove ninety minutes and now resents it slightly. We covered why geography does so much damage here in our guide to dating in LA.
Save the drive to Joshua Tree for date four. And if you want the other half of this, we have also worked out which LA neighbourhood suits your star sign.
Check Their Chart, Not Just Their Sign
Sun signs are the blunt instrument. Your Venus sign governs what you actually enjoy on a date, which is why a Capricorn with Venus in Sagittarius would genuinely rather drive to the desert than sit in a good restaurant. If you are not in LA, our general date ideas for every zodiac sign covers the same ground without the traffic.
You Need Somebody to Take First
Which is the genuinely hard part in a city where nothing happens by accident. We will be at Blind Barber in Los Angeles this year, with dates going up on our Los Angeles events page as they are confirmed. Astrology-led singles nights, age-banded, hosted, and the Cosmic Fusion app matching you in the room so you already know their Venus sign before you suggest anywhere.
